Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, peace and blessings to you all! As we gather in the presence of the Lord today, let us remember the words of our motto: “God of Armies, God of gods, Christ Jesus, be praised forever. You are the greatest spiritual being of all time.” Together, we strive to live lives of faith, prayer, and unwavering trust in the power of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Today, we delve into a powerful message about faith—faith so strong that it can move mountains. This is not just an abstract idea but a living truth, as seen in the Word of God.

Bible Verse: Matthew 17:20

"He replied, 'Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, "Move from here to there," and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.'”

The Story: A Mountain of Doubt

Prayer of the God of Armies

The sun blazed over the valley where a desperate father knelt before Jesus. His son was possessed by a spirit that caused seizures, suffering, and isolation. The father had already approached Jesus’ disciples, pleading for help, but they could not cast out the spirit.

When Jesus arrived, the father cried, “Lord, have mercy on my son! He suffers terribly.”

As the boy was brought forward, the spirit convulsed him. But with a single rebuke from Jesus, the boy was healed. The crowd was amazed, and the father wept tears of gratitude.

Later, the disciples approached Jesus privately and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”

Jesus replied, “Because you have so little faith. If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Key Lessons for Our Lives

1. The Power of Genuine Faith:

Faith, even as small as a mustard seed, holds immense power when rooted in God. The issue is not the size of your faith but the greatness of the One in whom you place it.

2. Overcoming Doubt and Fear:

Like the disciples, we may struggle with doubt, especially when faced with challenges. But Jesus calls us to believe in His power, not our own.

3. The Role of Prayer and Fasting:

In Mark’s account of this story, Jesus adds that “This kind can come out only by prayer and fasting” (Mark 9:29). Prayer and fasting align our hearts with God’s will and open the way for His power to work through us.

4. God Can Move the Mountains in Our Lives:

The “mountains” in this story symbolize any challenge or obstacle in our lives—whether it’s a troubled relationship, financial burden, health issue, or spiritual struggle. Through faith, we can overcome them.

Reflection and Call to Action

Take a moment to reflect:

What are the mountains in your life?

Are you trusting in God’s power to move them, or are you relying on your own strength?

Today, I encourage you to bring your mountains to the Lord in prayer. Remember that no problem is too great for Him. Through faith, prayer, and fasting, we can see the impossible become possible.

Closing Prayer (Interactive)

Let us pray together:

“Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts. We thank You for Your Word and for the gift of faith. Lord, we confess our doubts and ask You to strengthen our trust in You. Help us to believe, even when the mountains in our lives seem immovable.

Today, we lift up every challenge, every fear, and every burden to You. Teach us to pray and fast with confidence, knowing that You are working all things for our good. May we always remember that with faith in You, nothing is impossible.

Together we say: Lord, we trust in Your power. We trust in Your love. Move the mountains in our lives, O God, and lead us into victory. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.”

Closing Words

Beloved, as you go forth today, remember the promise of Matthew 17:20. Faith, even as small as a mustard seed, can change everything when placed in the hands of God. Let us continue to pray, trust, and act in faith, knowing that He is with us always.

God bless you all, and may the God of Armies continue to guide and strengthen you. Let’s walk together in faith and move mountains for His glory.

The disciples stood silently, confused and ashamed. They had tried, but their efforts had failed. Jesus looked at them and said, “You unbelieving and perverse generation, how long shall I stay with you? Bring the boy here to me.”
