The Miracle of Lanciano: The bleeding host.

This Eucharistic miracle took place in the 8th century in the town of Lanciano, Italy. During a Mass celebrated by a Basilian monk who doubted the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, the host and wine transformed into physical flesh and blood. The transformed elements have been preserved for over 1,200 years and have undergone scientific testing, with results indicating that the flesh is myocardial tissue from the heart and the blood is of human origin.
